White-faced Whistling Duck


The White-faced Whistling Duck can be found and seen mostly in the South Africa. They breed in sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa.

These ducks are so amazing to watch when they arrive in thousands and they are very noisy. Just think of how much noise a thousand ducks could make! Caused the white face they look so amazing, and don't forget all the   other beautiful colours which they bare with themself.

This species has a long grey bill, long head and longish legs. It has a white face and crown, and black rear head. The back and wings are dark brown to black, and the underparts are black, although the flanks have fine white barring. The neck is chestnut. All plumages are similar, except that juveniles have a much less contrasted head pattern. The call is a loud we-weoo.

When these ducks first lays eggs and breed, they lay up to 12 eggs. Trees are used for the nest to be in, but some have their nest near the ground too.
